This house is the home of a couple with three children, a family with deep nostalgia for the countryside. It locates in an evergreen valley in Dongguan, China. The site is surrounded by mountain on three sides, the mouth of the valley looks to a forest of fruit trees, the hazy mountains sits as background far away. The house using light-wood construction, the building is made of modified wood, extremely durable in wet and humid conditions in Southern China.

Grosvenor / Bean Buro

Pingtian Village Center / DnA

The village of Pingtian is situated on a mountain ridge and consists mostly of rammed earth structures with traditional wood construction on the inside. The houses are grouped organically along the topography and can be accessed on foot by means of stairs and very narrow alleys.

Lens Office / TAO – Trace Architecture Office

This project is designed for Lens Magazine, located in 1958 Industrial Avenue in Beijing, as their head office and event place. The building was built in 1958 and served as a warehouse of Transportation Department of Beijing Commercial Storage Company. The Large span pitched roof, supported by wood trusses and iron joints, is a typical warehouse typology in 1950s and indicates an aesthetic of structural purification.

Hengchuang Center / Atelier Xiang

Limo Space is located in the north of Beijing’s most famous 798 art district, one of Beijing’s hottest cultural and creative office areas. Through the remodeling of space and the way of introducing natural light, it has become the model of the most spatial experience in BOE’s office renovation project.

Sky Tea House / DC Design

Walking on the crisscross footpaths, you will see black bricks and ancient tiles, as well as the mottled shade under the tree. Treading on the grayish black slab path full of historical traces, passing through the busy crowd and turning the corner at Macao Road, you will see Sky Tea House standing there.

X Bridge / Atelier Groundwork Architecture

As a connection of buildings between the north and the south in Nanjing Newspaper Cultural & Innovative Park, and in order to respond with the genius loci, the X Bridge combines the design of space and its load transferring of structure instead of conventional decoration after structural build-up. The structure is formed by the main and secondary trusses which are joined innovatively together in X-shape to support each other to insure stability and strength of the whole structure.
