The next Oslo Architecture Triennale will challenge the supremacy of economic growth and investigate the architecture of alternatives. The festival will explore the buildings, spaces and institutions of a new culture in which economic growth is no longer the basis of societies. The curators have launched this open call inviting architects, urban practitioners, activists, novelists, artists, researchers and citizens to explore the architecture of a new economy in which human and ecological flourishing matter most – the architecture of degrowth.

Open Call: Design a Humanitarian Respite Center – Restoring Human Dignity on the Border

Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley (CCRGV), a non-profit inclusive organization, dedicated to reduce poverty and tend to the most vulnerable has teamed with Georgetown University to host a competition to design and build a permanent Humanitarian Respite Center in downtown McAllen, Texas. For four consecutive years, a temporary shelter has served nearly 100,000 immigrants seeking asylum. Welcoming them with radical hospitality, the center has helped refugees regain their dignity and has offered hope to carry on their difficult journeys ahead.
