The lot is located in an old residential quarter at the foot of mountains named “Ohmi-fuji”.The house is between a park and a river.Therefore, I took advantage of the great view.In particular, all windows are located in north and south which is good view.I made much account of a space with foliage.
This two-generation residence is located in the working-class shitamachi section of Tokyo’s Shinagawa district. The property is surrounded by old wooden homes whose lots are being subdivided as the younger generation takes them over, increasing the density of an already densely developed neighborhood. New structures must meet or exceed the codes for semi-fireproof construction, which regulate the use of wood. The client, however, wanted a home with a “natural” feeling and plenty of wood.
The land width which is only 5.5m2, with the space requirements that are not small enough to make a lot of design spaces to overcome these limitations, TROW HOUSE (Triangle-Narrow) concept is applied to create a room that has a Triangle Top Ceiling even on a narrow ground, this triangle ceiling can maximize the air circulation. With layout design that tends to be linear and elongated, zoning division of space in this design is accommodated with floor level that are applied at several points including family communal zone with service zone, guest bedroom area with main room and children’s rooms, and rooftop garden areas.
Buildings, Wearing PVC PIPE – PVC PIPE SKIN (agricultural machine storage of Asan) is a building designed for the upcycling of PVC pipes that can be commonly found in the surroundings. It has incorporated waste PVC pipes into the building to increase the efficiency of transparency, natural lighting, and natural drafts. This crossover not only increases the recycling of waste but also reveals the functionality of old PVC pipes as new design elements. This project has reconciled the functions and shapes for the given circumstances and users through a PVC PIPE façade design.
DenPaku The Beachfront MIJORA is a collection of villa style tourist accommodations, designed by Yasuhiro “Hiro” Yamashita of Atelier TEKUTO. Situated along a beach in Amami Oshima, a subtropical island in southern Japan, each villa boasts a breathtaking view of the sea.
Da Hop School is a kindergarten located in Hoa Binh province, the northern mountainous region of Vietnam, with a design towards friendliness, harmony with culture, nature and people. Overall the school is extremely lively with interesting diverse spaces, the classrooms overlooking the surrounding mountains, where children can freely explore and experience surprises, increasing joy when go to school.
The client is a married couple in their 60s who lives in the city center. They decided to move to Beppu City in Oita prefecture after semi-retiring and their children also moving out of the house. They desired to live in a location with a warm climate where they could enjoy hot springs and good food. This is a housing plan for two people who have their individual lifestyles where they live with happy, healthy dogs. The client had requested the following things: “A lifestyle of freedom with the beloved dogs” and “be able to feel nature.”
Small buildings in Korea are often shaped by building codes and regulations. As the property was cut off with corners of 18m X 8.4m, the size and shape of the building were determined under the highest priority of ensuring maximum floor area ratio (FAR) and maximum building coverage ratio (BCR). According to the building regulations, three-story building can be built on this property, but surrounded buildings were five-story buildings which were built back in 70’s and 90’s. If a small three-story building sits here based on building regulations, an independent building will be created which ignores the entire context of the city.
Building with Natural Biodegradable Raw materials is one of the major recurring green construction solutions of our days. Although some might call it regressive, it is an easy and affordable way to promote Eco-friendly Architecture. The implementation of Hay or Thatched roofs are a prime example of a highly beneficial Sustainable building solution.
A couple who has been living in the city commissioned me to design a small house where they will live with old parents. The site had a shape inappropriate for use and significant difference between its highest and lowest levels. In most cases of planning a country house on a site lower than the road around, one levels the site up to the road before building the house.
