This architecture is a new office building of “SYNEGIC Co., Ltd” , a structural screws manufacturer for wooden buildings. It is located in Miyagi Prefecture ,Japan. The client asked us for advanced architecture that expands the possibilities of wooden structure. Therefore, we proposed a plan where various places are mixed under the roof of 18m wooden large span trusses so that the employees working in the office can be seen from each other.
It is a private house for a family of four. The most request is a house where the voices and actions of the whole family can always be felt. The location is in a quiet residential area. On the other hand, the building was simple, but when we stepped in one step, we planned a pleasant interior space as if we were in the shade of a tree. Many trees are used for the interior space.
It’s an architecture project of a Kindergarten cum Nursery, situated amidst the rural fields on the foothills of Mt. Kirishima in Miyakonojo, Miyazaki, Japan. It often happened that the very same children who once studied here, came back with their own children even after so many years. It has become an institution that’s firmly rooted in the minds of the locals. Taking inspiration from this cycle, the design theme was set as “Connection”.
It is a two-family house with a total of seven people. This house is built facing the full traffic road. Because it is a relatively large house, we carefully planned its volume so as not to overwhelm the street. We have secured parking lots for the three requested vehicles, and are conscious of the plan of the cross section and roof slope, so that the proportions that can be seen as a hiraya. Also, instead of the cool appearance, the large roof has a wooden structure that gives a familiar impression.
It is a small house that accepts various environments and aims for a unique architecture. The project site has typical Japanese Seaside climate. Annual sunshine hours are low and precipitation is high. The snow cover can exceed 1m, and in summer some hot summer days are recorded.
Upon sudden adulthood, our daily lives might be the story of a traveler in the city that is on a journey to finding the lost innocence. We are still dreaming to find the memories of the past when we were pure and cheerful. “A day like a fairy tale, a journey to find the moon”. Dreaming of daily life like a fairy tale, our story starts by drawing the space between different emotions and words that we think of looking at the painting ‘path (길)’ by artist Jiyoung Park.
Maezawa Garden House* in Kurobe City, a small city facing the Japan Sea, has a vast natural garden made up of undulating lawn topography with trees. There is an amphitheater named the “Open Air Theater” in the corner of the garden. It is integrated into the landscape design. It consists of gentle lawn slope that was here prior to our commitment, a circular mound with diameter of X m and a semicircular bank with steps made of timber ties for railroad. Lawn slope and bank are facing each other across the circular mound.
High Garden is a low rise residential project in the heart of Bangkok. The 4-storey semi-detached house has been designed to suit urban lifestyle and create a dialogue between the urban context and the nature. Due to the soaring land price in high-density residential areas, owning a single house with a lush garden in the city centre is such a considerable challenge nowadays. Since urban houses become more compact, most home owners need to maximize every square inch of living space and unavoidably rely on air conditioning units. The role of green space is often neglected or underestimated.
BasicHouse is a home built by Architect Korn and Interior Designer Nartrudee for Korn and Nartrudee themselves. After over 10 years of experience of specializing in designing private residences the founders of Brownhouses Company Limited, an Architecture and Interior Design firm, built a home for their expanding family. In our definition and exploration of the work ‘Basic’ we looked for the fundamentals of beauty and function. We took the word basic for beauty of elements as they are. Thus, the combination of basic materials had created a multitude of small beautiful moments that when combined together makes the big picture wholesome. We created a simple house, tailored to fit its occupants making it special and unique in its own way.
Action for Social Advancement (ASA) is a nonprofit development organization whose mission is of ensuring livelihoods through development services with emphasis on natural resource development. Water is one of the key sectors ASA has been involved in, in villages of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand. In its head Office in Bhopal, ASA was keen to showcase its ethos of ecological principles. The client brief required that the space be inclusive and foster collaborative working culture. Site is in a development which was formerly an agricultural land.
