House of Herring lies within the Tampah Hills development on Lombok’s south coast. It was designed for a pair of Danish workmates and their young families to use as a holiday home, hence the quirky name. The house is rented through the estate management when they are not there.
This is a house renovation for a family of five at Kameido Tenjin in Tokyo. It’s located near Kameido Tenjin Shrine, famous for ukiyo-e prints by Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige. In the spring, the area is filled with tourists admiring the plum and wisteria blossoms. The clients have a habit of visiting the shrine with their family on the first day of each month, and they greatly appreciate the environment around the shrine.
The Hampi Art Lab hopes to foster creative thinking by creating a space where collaboration and experimentation are possible. Located on a 5-acre site in Karnataka’s city of Vijayanagar, Hampi Art Lab is inspired by the riverine landscape of the Tungabhadra and her gentle sculpting of the surrounding hills; the project is rooted in a central ‘space of flows’ through which people access the property. On either side of this lies a hill-scape of various amenities available at the residency.
“Mokkado” is a café organized by a 75-year-old pharmaceutical company based in Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture. The café is a renovation of a 100-year-old old house, the birthplace of the founder, and also a factory of a Toyama-based company that manufactures and sells medicine in a traditional Toyama style. The company, which now mainly handles Chinese herbal medicines along with a variety of healthy food products, will operate a café offering chai and shaved ice based on Chinese herbalism along with a corner where medicine can also be purchased.
Nestled within the contours of Kota Baru Parahyangan’s picturesque landscape, ETC 2.0 House stands as a testament to modern tropical living. This semi-detached architectural gem redefines the notion of suburban luxury, seamlessly blending contemporary design with natural beauty of its surroundings. Perched atop a sloping site in Padalarang – West Java, this two-storey residence with a mezzanine and semi-basement floor offers a harmonious fusion of form, function and sustainability. The innovative design allows for the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, inviting residents to commune with nature at every turn.
This is a renovation of a small wine bar in Tokyo. We placed the kitchen counter in the center of the space, planned an aisle around it, and created a lounge space in the back. To maximize the width of the aisle, we cut all furniture corners at an angle, resulting in uniquely shaped furniture.
Aesop Thonglor is a project that focuses on using micro domestic materials, specifically wood, in its design. The use of wood here is not just about showcasing local architectural skills and ideas but also about reusing existing wood from the original site in a way that fits the brand’s needs.

When we were commissioned to renovate a newly built condominium for sale, our challenge was to create a space that would make the most of the new and beautiful living environment that was currently fully habitable. During our visits to the site, we observed that while the location, security, and convenience were excellent, the furnishings and other items were a combination of mass-produced, ready-made items. This seemed to us to be a combination that could be considered luxurious, but perhaps not in the way that the client had in mind. We felt that this was where the answer lay this time.
The residence was for a family of five: a young couple with two kids and their grandparents. This project was introduced just before the 2018 Kerala floods. The experience of this devastating flood left everyone fearful and uncertain, especially those who were planning to build a house. The house to be designed was expected to mitigate mild flooding situations simultaneously; on normal days, it would be just a simple house without showing any hint of being built for any purpose like this.
