As the most important cultural facility in the city, today’s theater should not be reserved just for art lovers or tourists, but to find ways to integrate into the daily life of the public. The design focused on the relationship between landscape, building, and urban space, and explored a place that is more popular and attractive than a building, a theater, or a garden.

Site. Located in West Dharma Village, Fangshan District, Beijing, In S&N Resort is favorably sited amidst mountains and trees. Legend has it that the twenty-eighth generation of Bodhidharma disciples of Shaolin Temple in Songshan traveled across the world. When passing through the Baihuashan area, they built temples, spread Buddhism, did good deeds, and cured the illnesses of local people under the protection of Bodhidharma. To commemorate the virtues of Dharma, the mountain peak there is called Dharma Mountain and the village is the so-called West Dharma Village. Based on an originally built residential cluster, the 1700 square-meter construction has been replanned and designed. A stream flows gently down the mountain passing through the middle of the site. Huge stones pillow in the river, rounded after years of scouring; many trees grow in the water. The surrounding context is natural and quiet, offering a hint of Zen and depicting a fictitious land of peace.

Sunshine Kindergarten is a progressive school that offers innovative learning and STEAM curriculum to a disadvantaged rural community in Hebei, China. The project upgrades and expands the facilities of an existing school that was founded in 2004.

Jiu Mao Jiu , a Chinese restaurant group with chain management as its core, was established in 1995 and has 25 years of experience in F&B industry in China. The key management strategy of Jiu Mao Jiu Holdings Limited is based on having multiple brands and multiple concepts. Apart from the classic “ShanXi noodle restaurant” as a starting point, the Group has also created few different brands to cater to different levels of consumers. So far, Jiu Mao Jiu Holdings Limited operates 5 brands – Nine Mao Nine , Taier, Double Eggs,Song, The Uncle Chef. Jiu Mao Jiu Holdings Limited encompasses different F&B sub-brands. So E Studio came up with the conceptof Galaxy where Jiu Mao Jiu Holdings Limited represents galaxy and its sub-brands represent the main planets. The idea is a cosmic world belonging to Jiu Mao Jiu Holdings Limited, where its headquarters space represents an ark and the exhibition hall contains the data of all the F&B sub-brands represented as planets. It is expected that visitors of the headquarters will be “riding on a cosmic ark”, shuttle between the Jiu Mao Jiu sub-brands planets, moving around the entire galaxy.

Coffee, barista, and space will form an overall experience process, which is different in each cafe. In Cenchi Coffee the process will be “inviting guests to step into the bar area”. We treat this small space facing the street like a big bar: the whole cafe is a bar area. The three modules of the ordering table, pour-over coffee bar, and espresso bar are fully open and arranged on the central axis. All guest seats are located inside the bar area, and customers can only sit in the area of the bar. The three bars can be surrounded, like the kitchen island at home, which breaks the distinction between the “front” and “back” of the bar.
