Storeage, the Shanghai based Dutch retail design agency, worked with the Adidas team to create an innovative retail experience. Located at the Futian Galaxy Coco park, spanning over 3000 square meters and three floors, the store is host to all of Adidas latest technology and products.  Worthy of all these product innovations the Storeage team paid specific attention to the façade, which wraps all that excitement in an architecturally woven skin, created very much to resembling the knitted technology that defines todays today’s performance footwear.

Located in the “Ten Crossing” scenic area in Fangshan, Beijing, the project finds itself in one of the most magnificent Karst landscapes in northern China. The site as we found it, was an old farmyard in the middle of the mountain. In this project, confronting the unconquerable nature as well as the individual’s need for shelter, we tried to transform the outside world into part of the body’s “digging”. This is our imagination of living in mountains in northern China.

The concept for the Camerich pavilion stems from working through a number of dualities: nature/artifice, chaos/sanctuary, objects/the viewer, and tradition/innovation. Responding to the brand’s invitation to rethink exhibition design within the context of international furniture fairs, Neri&Hu explores the possibilities of creating a Structural Field, as a way not necessarily to arrive at a harmonious synthesis, but perhaps to hold these seeming contradictions in suspension for the duration of this temporary installation. 

The international inquiry-learning farmhouse forest of Longma Village, Baodun Town, Xinjin District, Chengdu is located next to Xinpu City Expressway, on the Baodun Tourist Route, and adjacent to Baodun Ancient City Site. There are 50 households and 300 local people, covering an area of more than 140 mu. Our project is located not far from the entrance of the farmhouse forest, where villagers go in and out every day.

Located on a mountainside with sunrise vistas, the owner picked the perfect idyllic location to build a courtyard homestay for his family and friends. The project is situated in a village in Tengchong, Yunnan province, and overlooks the famous ancient town of Heshun across a paddy field. The site has the advantage of a wide outlook and quiet environment and enjoys a pleasant climate year-round. At the outset, we visited nearby villages with the owner, studied the layout of traditional-style dwellings and local construction materials, looking for construction teams, and discussed feasible construction techniques. Even with a lot of preparatory work, we still faced many difficulties at the later stage. After the conceptual design was completed, the site was completely overturned due to force majeure, and the structural system had to be replaced after the construction drawings had been issued and regulations on the ancient town’s style and features became more stringent. We and the owner made frequent trips between Beijing and Tengchong, treating any difficulties like leveling up to fight monsters in a computer game. But we persevered and made it in the end. The owner named the project Yard 3721, which translates to mean that the house would be built no matter what.
