Marea House / Rieuldorang Atelier

November 23, 2021 Clara Ott 0

Play on stay. A pension that I thought of by shifting my perspective from a simple stay to a play. What is play, it is accompanied by fun and enjoyment through experience. Most of the people living in apartments have a lack of play in the living space. It’s a simple game, but something you can’t do in an apartment living room. Plants swaying in the wind, the experience of touching the soil, etc. And the experience of the children’s playground that I learned while designing the kindergarten suggested a new service perspective for the family pool villa with the family.

Located on rugged terrain, Casa Cañadas is developed from the premise of being part of the topography and respecting the existing trees, leaving the construction in the background, and thus giving an honest answer to the area of application.

El Almendral is a countryside house located on the top of the Envigado mountains at the east side of the Aburrá Valley, immersed in a dense tropical forest with a panoramic view over the valley. This plot of land had high slopes that were not removed but reshaped to complement the area. It was an important determinant during the design process given the client requested the vegetation remain.

Rope shop is located on the ground floor of an apartment building from the 19th century in the center of Prague in Mala Strana. In the past, there were made many adaptations and adjustments, but none of them had its quality. Spaces were divided into three parts and the full height of each room was interrupted by a full inserted floor. Shops were confined, neglected, and confusing.

Circular Pavilion / Studio ACTE

September 30, 2021 Clara Ott 0

This cabin is an experimental and craft made project. Built as a temporary object, the design aims to be unbuild and recycle again. Therefore each material was already re-used, harvest in the local area and is attached in a dry and harmless way. The cabin arises in the heart of a wild garden in Rotterdam, each element and detail are visible from inside and outside, offering a permanent dialogue with the garden. The door is lifted from the ground and attached to the transparent cube. The rammed earth base is a wall and a floor, mixing functions, emphasising its archetypal form. The aluminum roof floats and reveals the timber structure and the transparency of the facade. The architecture dialogues between mass, transparency, time and durability.

Lantern House / Heatherwick Studio

September 16, 2021 Clara Ott 0

The studio was commissioned by Related Companies in 2015 to design a new residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan, beside the High Line at West 18th Street. In contrast to new glass apartment blocks that have sprung up along the High Line, we wanted to create a new type of residence: one that was reminiscent of the area’s existing historical buildings, designed and built for permanency.

September 7, 2021 Clara Ott 0

This set of 8 houses around a common space is located in an irregular plot previously occupied by a large house, at walking distance from the financial center of Santiago. The common space is conceived as a pedestrian walkway with continuous edges, whereas the houses on its sides have a symmetrical “L” plan around a squared courtyard.
