By its very definition, the architectural threshold is the operational device to delineate the interior condition as it relates to, while standing out, against the exterior condition. The very same architectural device, allows for negotiation between what is owned by the owner and the city that is shared among all.
Chiripa is a project that seeks to experiment with the way users relate to each other in an undefined typology, a hybrid between house, apartment and hotel. Six units that, depending on the needs of the visitors, can be used in different configurations, constantly changing the way they are inhabited.
The project is located in a country club on Route 6, in the district of Marcos Paz, province of Buenos Aires. In a predominantly rural setting, the neighborhood takes the form of two leaf-shaped clusters, containing a large central park. Bordering on this void, at the end of the area, is the lot on which the house stands.
The project, is a single-family house located in Valle de los Chillos in the city of Quito, Ecuador. The client’s main request is a house without stairs or obstacles, a home that is easy to walk around.
A few minutes from downtown Oaxaca, an old painting factory is transformed into a restaurant that seeks to be a benchmark of the gastronomy of the place. The project is the intervention to a preexistence through an architectural acupuncture that maintains certain elements and potentiates the structure to create new spaces.
The bothy ruin sits atop an elevated plateau overlooking the Prince’s beach, located some meters below a lay-by on the main road towards the Eriskay – Barra ferry slipway. It was here that, on 23rd July 1745, the young pretender Charles Edward Stuart made the first landfall in Scotland, prior to the second Jacobite uprisings.
The building is located in the historic center of Chiclayo. It is located on a lot between party walls, 4 meters wide by 27 meters long on average, with access from one street. Nothing could be preserved of the existing adobe construction, which was in a dilapidated state. The tall buildings on each side urged for its demolition and for a new building on the lot.
Our concept is based on three sculpturally strong individual towers forming a significant highrise ensemble on the Danube Canal.
Valle de Bravo is a resting place for the weekends surrounded by a lake, oak and pine forests and rivers. It is a perfect place for all kinds of outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountain bike tours and paragliding. Casa Colorada is located within this privileged environment, on a hill that borders the Monte Alto Reserve, taking advantage of the benefit of full views of the lake and the town.
Reviving Station neighborhood in Vilnius, Raugykla street, a former deprived warehouse today is transformed into an apartment building with an architects’ studio on the ground floor. The project became an instance of how the low-value architecture may be transformed and inspire the process of revitalizing the street.
