Coax Road Poket Park / VIASCAPE design

September 5, 2024 Valeria Silva 0

The project is situated at the southeast side of the busy crossing of Caoxi Road and South Kaixuan Road, covering an area of 6300m2. The site was initially occupied by low-quality illegal building blocks and a car park. Ren’ai Hospital is to the west of the site, giving little setback from South Kaixuan road, and results in narrow access and poor spatial experience. The site is an elongated channel in between metro line 3 station in northeast tothe. The shadow cast by interwoven Metro line 3, Inner Ring and Huming Elevated Bridge makes the site an overcrowded grey mess.

DoubleMint House / large [medium] design office

September 4, 2024 Hadir Al Koshta 0

An additional bedroom for twin brothers currently sharing a room, and space for a proper dining table where of course the clients could enjoy meals with friends and family but could also host a variety of family-friendly activities ranging from game night to puzzles, to schoolwork. DoubleMint House is a two-story rear addition and partial renovation to a three-story semi-detached Edwardian-style home in Toronto. The project includes a fully renovated basement and a third-story walkout roof deck. The organization of the addition originates on the second floor in creating two bedrooms of very similar qualities with only subtle differences; a nod to the eventual occupants of the bedrooms. The room proportions and dimensions are very similar, identical windows are situated in each room, and the rooms participate equally in a narrow double-height space at the end of the bedrooms. The subtlety in the differences is situated in the sculpting of the ceilings and the hue of blue paint on the exterior facing the bulkhead of the double-height volumes.

+55 Design Store / Studio Arthur Casas

September 4, 2024 Andreas Luco 0

The brazility, so determining for the identity of the brand +55design, also  defined the architecture of the store, designed by Arthur Casas and  his team. To solidify this intention, cobogós in the façade,  monochromatic earthly and green tones, as well as lush greenery  composed by native Brazilian species highlight its tropicality and make  the store an exhibition space. Therefore, with a neutral and minimalistic scenario, the objects and products gain protagonism. “The project was  thought searching for solutions to evidence the furniture, not the  architecture”, explains Arthur. To achieve such results, lighting is a great  ally – the amorphous opening between ground floor and mezzanine and  the glass roofing allow for abundant natural lighting, which brightens  spaces and highlights the furniture’s materiality.
