In history, plagues have been both a crisis and an opportunity for humanity. Although they have been painful, we have also earned a dense and healthy foundation for the city. The recent COVID-19 pandemic brought up ecological problems right in front of us, making us recognize the value of urban green. Seoul Forest which is an iconic site in Seoul, changed itself from a horse racing track to an ecological park in the city. ‘Ecological Matrix, Breathing Net’ is our architectural answer about urban park facilities in the new-normal era after COVID-19.

This site is located in Building 3 of COLUMBIA CIRCLE. Historically, this area served as the Columbia Country Club, a recreational destination for Western residents of Shanghai during the concession era. Following a renovation and redesign by OMA in 2018, it reopened as “COLUMBIA CIRCLE”. coffee SHED is a coffee agriculture retail space. It opens to the public square and the community and becomes a daily gathering place for residents. Coffee, agricultural and sideline products and daily necessities are sold here.

US studio Olson Kundig Architects has shaded a boxy, glass office complex with aluminium screens near Atlanta’s BeltLine and included a glass-clad volume to connect to buildings and frame the pedestrian paths. The 1,100,000-square-foot (102,193-square metre) two-building structure was completed in 2023 by Seattle-based studio Olson Kundig on a significant historical site from the Civil

A residential project located in the municipality of Las Terrenas, province of Samaná, a peninsula located northeast of the Dominican Republic. The home is located on a 1,000m2 lot within a private tourist complex with direct access to the beach. This is a 180m2 house with a rectangular floor plan that has very well defined 2 main areas, social area and semi-private area, both with independent access to generate privacy for the user and different experiences when entering it.

“Unlimited height” approved for proposed tallest skyscraper in the US

Oklahoma City Council has approved a rezoning application for Legends Tower, a supertall skyscraper designed by California architecture studio AO that, if completed, will be the tallest in the United States. Yesterday, the Oklahoma City Council approved an “unlimited” height for the skyscraper, part of the Boardwalk at Bricktown development, which includes three smaller structures.

Winspear Opera House / Foster + Partners

The new Winspear Opera House in Dallas redefines the essence of an opera house for the twenty first century, breaking down barriers to make opera more accessible for a wider audience. Responding to the Dallas climate, a generous solar canopy extends from the building, revealing below a fully glazed sixty foot high lobby. This establishes a direct relationship between inside and outside, enhancing transparency. Beneath the canopy, which forms an integral part of the environmental strategy – a shaded pedestrian plaza creates a major new public space for Dallas, defined by the masterplan for the Performing Arts District. The masterplan was designed by Foster + Partners and OMA with Michel Desvigne.
