The clients, a British couple, purchased an abandoned village consisting of six sets of run-down buildings with the aim of rehabilitating each space and turning it back into a village. The project aims to create local accommodation for wellness retreats with a sustainable approach, offering permaculture workshops, yoga, reiki and lots of contact with nature. In the first phase, the first complex was rehabilitated.

G Clef Bridge is located in the core area of the Bailu Music Tourist Area in Bailu Town, within the Longmen Mountains of Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The Bailu Music Tourist Area spans 2.9 square kilometers and is 60 kilometers from downtown Chengdu. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction known for its rich historical and cultural resources. The area includes renowned sites such as the Annunciation Seminary, the Sino-French Friendship Bridge, the Old Street of Bailu Town, the “most impressive teaching building” at the 5.12 earthquake site, and the geological wonder of Flying Peak.
The nursery stands in Ashikita-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture, which has lush green mountains and beautiful coastlines. In response to the flooding of the existing nursery building due to a river overflow caused by heavy rains, we planned a “hilltop nursery to protect children from flooding” by placing soil on the ground and setting the floor level at 2 meters above the ground.
In old neighborhoods, design begins with thinking about how a building should relate to its predecessors to create continuity in the neighborhood. We analyzed the approach to the old building, the role of the fence and garden, the exterior materials, and the shape of the roof, and metaphorized them to the new building. The first floor is the client’s design office, the second and third floors are rental offices, and the fourth and fifth floors are the client’s residence.

The vaulted house is designed for an artist. Design of the house is based on 2 factors; site context and client’s background. The original structure was a humble 2 BHK GF residence, built 20+ years ago on the outskirts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad). Client wanted to expand the house without demolishing the existing structure and Site falls under Hot and Dry climate zone in a relatively densely populated area.
