Dapu Elementary and Junior High School Affiliated Kindergarten. Nestled in the mountainous region of Chiayi County, Dapu Township bears a significant history. In 1973, the construction of the Tseng Wen Reservoir led to the flooding of its valley plains and towns. Consequently, much of its land was either nationalized or designated as protected forest reserves, transforming Dapu into an enchanting sanctuary.

Customers wanted a beach house to gather family and friends on weekends and holidays. Located in Praia do Forte, on the north coast of Bahia, the residence has 580m² distributed over two floors and a basement. The project, started in 2021 and completed the following year, posed a challenge for the team at Sidney Quintela Architecture + Urban Planning office, especially in meeting the family’s desire for a variety of spaces in the residence, both for hosting and leisure.

The Albert Campbell Branch Library opened its doors in 1971 to serve Scarborough’s diverse community. In this rapidly growing Toronto suburb, the brutalist building stood as a beacon to the community. But after five decades, the Toronto Public Library (TPL) recognized the need for upgrades to meet contemporary needs. Working with LGA Architectural Partners, the design studio behind the celebrated Scarborough Civic Centre Library Branch, TPL sought to reimagine Albert Campbell as a more welcoming hub that brings people together and is connected to the community.

IAAC creates mobile Moca dwelling with openable fabric facades

Students and researchers at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia have constructed a mobile home in Barcelona using wood from Collserola Natural Park. Called Moca, an abbreviation of Mobile Catalyst, the prototype two-person dwelling is mounted on a trailer and designed to be easily transported by car. It is built from cross-laminated timber (CLT)
