How to Measure Performance for Architecture and Design Firms?

February 29, 2024 Maria-Cristina Florian 0

The field of architecture and design is a dynamic one, often managing large-scale investments and involving a wide array of professionals. It stands to reason that, in this type of environment, success is not simply defined by just the quality of the completed structures, but also by the internal ability of architecture firms to effectively manage their business operations. For architects and designers, measuring performance goes beyond financial metrics; it encompasses a diverse range of factors that reflect the firm’s efficiency, creativity, and impact within the industry.

House B / APB Oficina de Projetos

February 29, 2024 Clara Ott 0

One of the most incredible houses in the city appeared as a gift to us. Of post-modern architecture, dating back to the 80s, it was intact, with all its original features: wooden floors, granite, marble, accessories, and fixtures, and the entire structure in exposed concrete. It fits perfectly with the idea the clients desired for Casa B/. We found in the house itself the solutions for the project’s concept and sought to go further, highlighting all the potential it offered us. The concept: the house would continue to be a home for the clients, cozy and welcoming.

BYASA Cafe / Studio ASA

February 29, 2024 Hana Abdel 0

A project born from an open brief and a desire to create a unique sanctuary in the midst of urban chaos, Byasa stands out with its narrow face and unpredictable wide pocket area. This cafe presents a rare opportunity to design a space that offers breathing room in the midst of a hectic environment. The genesis of this project lies in the exploration of creating lasting memories for its customers. The design focuses on infusing the space with comfort and healing, leaving a lasting impression on all who visit. One key aspect is to create lasting memories through sensory experiences. Byasa is designed to engage all the senses, defining a series of spaces that create an integrated experience and lead visitors on a sequential journey through space, from the moment they approach the facade to the time they sit down to enjoy their food.

Entry Pavilion / Metrics Architecture Studio

February 29, 2024 Andreas Luco 0

Initially, this was a project about functionality and efficiency, an entry pavilion for a mental hospital located in southern Taiwan. It serves as a gate entry which can transform into a fever screening station during the pandemic. Instead of building a linear wall, we created a boundary with a layer of spaces, which serves as a transition between the hospital campus and the external highway, also creates a series of collective spaces which has the potential for multi-functional use which also kept the building’s gesture more welcoming than a wall with a guard post.
