BeiQing Experimental School Boundary Renovation / ELSE

Located in Kunming, China, the project aims to redefine the entrance and boundaries of this campus. The school is a 12-year boarding school with approximately 5,000 students and teachers. The campus is in a typical Chinese urban setting, surrounded by residential blocks mostly built in the early 2000s. However, as is typical for campuses, existing walls separate the school from the surrounding community, creating a small, inward-looking, self-sufficient community. Due to changes in land use and road reconfiguration, the original main entrance will no longer be usable.

Gairnshiel Jubilee Bridge / Moxon Architects

Moxon Architects has completed the Gairnshiel Jubilee Bridge in rural Aberdeenshire in the eastern part of the Cairngorms National Park in collaboration with civil and structural engineers Arcadis. Named in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, the year in which construction began, the new crossing will divert highway traffic away from the original 1749 Category A-listed Gairnshiel Bridge, one of the most important and historic structures in the area, preserving it for years to come, while providing a crucial north-south link for people traveling between Deeside and Speyside.

Implanted a few meters from the beach, in a residential condominium in Ubatuba, north coast of São Paulo, Residence CCL was designed to be integrated with the exuberant nature of the location. The use of natural materials, large spans, and lots of transparency provided great integration with nature, which became the strong point of the project.
