This project is a part of the bigger master plan that aims to revamp ‘Siam Square’ with more people-centric urban spaces including walking streets, gathering places, and greenery.

The Smart New World Innovation Center project is located in Hangzhou High-tech Zone, on the north bank of the Qiantang River, and next to Zhijiang Bridge. It is a gathering area and incubation base of the wisdom industry integrating commercial services and business office functions, which will attract a number of high-tech industries and strategic emerging industries to settle in the future. The unique location of the site and the gathering of specific talents in the future have put forward new demands different from traditional offices.

Renovation of House / Manoj Patel Design Studio

The residence is in one of the central areas of Vadodara city. The site is surrounded by many adjacent urban dwellings. The design brief for the house had many memories attached from the client’s side. Now evolving over time, they wanted to experience contemporary modulations in the same space with minimum budget specifications. The house defines dialogue between existing structural grids and new different punctures infused for communication. The design shows a thoughtful approach to addressing challenges inside a built mass, creating opportunities for visually open spaces by adding colourful graphics. As part of climatic considerations, passive design strategies and planning principles have been incorporated.

Hutton embeds off-grid research station into hills of rural Kansas

Bands of local stone wrap the Youngmeyer Field Station, which was designed and built by Kansas studio Hutton to integrate with the natural topography and operate off the grid. Located in eastern Kansas, the building sits within the 4,700-acre (1,902-hectare) Youngmeyer Ranch, which is an active cattle ranch and research site for Wichita State University.

Similarly, the movie Black Swan starring Natalie Portman portrays Nina — a protagonist aspiring to transition from a white swan to a perfect black swan — through a synesthesia of desire and anxiety. As such, the white and black swans are not only a matter of simple color contrast but also imply contradictory affect and transformation.
