Trace Architecture Office (TAO)’s latest school project—Haikou Jiangdong Huandao Experimental School is currently in use. Located in Haikou, Hainan, China, the campus includes a high school and student dormitory for 48 high school classes, and a kindergarten for 18 kindergarten classes, with a total floor area of 64,700 square meters. This is TAO’s second educational project in Haikou, which is another creative practice of exploring links between education and architecture with respect to the local context.

MyouKei-An” is a small one-story wooden house designed as a retirement retreat for a retiring 12th-generation female priest. The site was located along the approach to the temple, which has limited space. Originally, a prefabricated warehouse and a garage had been built there, so it was important to create a house and at the same time, to improve the landscape of the temple grounds.

AR13 is established with the moral of giving back to society through its architectural design. One of the representations is their architectural studio itself which is a convertible space to work, play and congregate in an organized urban patch. The principal architects of AR13 have their different areas of interest other than architecture and interior; considering the same the space is designed as an open studio with different possible natures. Located on an internal road of a finely defined urban grid of Vadodara, the architectural studio is built in an east-facing rectangular plot with an area of around 2600 sqft shares a common wall with open plots in the west and south direction while the north side abutted with a residential building.

Louzada House was built on the south coast of Brazil, in the Maritime Condominium, in Tramandaí. The lot is surrounded by exuberant native vegetation on the north and west faces; in the south, an extensive lagoon can be seen on the horizon. Two fundamental requests guided the design decisions: that the house be really private, not exposed to the street, and that the views of the trees and the lagoon be maximized.
