Following a holistic and human-centric vision for interior design that fosters personal well-being, ACPV ARCHITECTS’ project for the new office building features custom-designed furniture that responds to the day-to-day needs of people working on the premises and complements the building’s distinctive architectural design by Zaha Hadid Architects. Beyond the open-plan office spaces, ACPV ARCHITECTS selected and arranged the furniture in the meeting places, the cafeteria, and the executive suites of BEEAH’s new HQ.

Having a meal at a leafy rooftop restaurant in East London one day, the owners of this 1980s house fell for the relaxed mood of the casual seating areas and decked walkways amid grasses and climbers, and decided they’d love that look in their garden. …

The conservation area character appraisal states that the village is ‘not a conservation area defined by large open spaces and vistas, rather by secret paths and secluded streets.’ This was the starting point for the design which uses the idea of a raised secret garden, permeated by small courtyards which form another layer to this romantic concept.

The project explores the possibilities of rediscovering the qualities of a traditional townhouse within the contemporary architectural vocabulary despite the very limited site area: spatial generosity, diverse relationship to outdoor spaces, modest yet decorative formulation, and materialization.

The remodeling and expansion of the Anahuacalli Museum in Mexico City by Taller | Mauricio Rocha is the 2023 recipient of the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP), the biennial prize that recognizes a built work in the Americas that best embodies architectural excellence. The winner announcement was made by MCHAP Director Dirk Denison and Jury Chair Sandra Barclay at the MCHAP Symposium and Gala Awards Benefit Dinner that took place in Chicago at S. R. Crown Hall on the Illinois Institute of Technology’s historic Mies campus this Friday, March 24, 2023.
