Villa Tanatakah / asimapra

March 26, 2023 Hana Abdel 0

Tanatakah is a private villa, just a 3-minute stroll from the sands of Pererenan beach, Bali. The space’s programming is geared toward fostering closeness and privacy within a family of parents and two adult children who will soon be starting their own families. The 393 sqm site is situated in a newly developed area of trendy joints and tourist accommodations, not so far from the vibrant Canggu neighborhood. It is also surrounded by lush nature close to a river mouth with pockets of rice fields still operated and owned by the local Balinese community. It inspired us to marry the dynamics and playfully incorporate local characters and natural elements into a contemporary twist on the architecture.

March 26, 2023 Elisabeth Kostina 0

On a plot of land with an area of 5x25m, Cherry homestay is a project with a breath of nature integrated into a unique contemporary architectural style. The work is a combination of many different styles, lines, and shapes and does not follow any rules. The building has an architectural shape with strong lines, combined with the V-pillar system becoming the highlight of the facade, interwoven with the traditional tile roof system of Hoi An and the soft spiral staircase commercial. Strong shapes and soft curves create balance and harmony in the overall look of the building.

Crone Office 680 George Street / Crone Architects

March 26, 2023 Thuto Vilakazi 0

Crone had been in its Kent Street premises for 25 years where the staff was spread over three levels with little connection between the practice and visiting clients. So, they began to search for a new location. Crone recognized the potential for this space that was originally earmarked to accommodate an indoor lap pool and fitness center. Level 18 (just above podium height, but with grand views north down George Street) had been used by Ernst & Young as their mail and storage room for over ten years. It was dusty and dirty with giant compactors dotted around the floorplate.

Magnolia House / nicolas&nicolas + Caá Porá Arquitectura

March 26, 2023 Valeria Silva 0

Casa Magnolia is an alternative response to the common housing enclave. It seeks to understand it from the perspective of a series of spaces that are inhabited by a family, rather than from the perspective of an architectural element. Implanted in a suburban context full of nature and away from the urban environment, it’s a symbolic volumetric composition that represents each space of the house as a part, with its own specific characteristics, that relates to the environment and to the whole.

POG House / NODE architectes

March 26, 2023 Andreas Luco 0

The POG house is located in Arradon, Brittany, France. Brittany is a region with a strong identity because of its language, its gastronomy, its link with the Atlantic Ocean, and its architecture. The traditional architecture, well preserved, is made up of granite houses with small openings protecting from storms and slate roofs, a stone originally produced in the neighboring town of Angers. Nowadays, mass construction, constituting 90% of house construction, is made of concrete blocks coated in white and gable roofs made of stone slate imported from Spain. In addition to these classic characteristics, builders generally add a parallelepipedal volume, imitating the modern architecture of the 1930s by Le Corbusier.
