The Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize Announces Finalists for the 2023 MCHAP Award

Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP) Director Dirk Denison and 2023 MCHAP Jury Chair Sandra Barclay have just announced the six finalists for the 2023 Americas Prize. The award recognizes the best built works of architecture in the Americas completed between December 2018 and June 2021. This represents the latest stage of the fourth cycle of the MCHAP, launched in Venice, Italy, in August 2021. On March 24, 2023, the jury will announce the winners of the the 2023 Americas Prize. The authors of the winning project are set to receive a $50,000 fund for research along with a publication.

New permanent exhibition for the Kysuce Museum. “History of Čadca and surroundings” Space for the exhibition. We are opening doors on the second floor of the Kysuce Museum. We do not enter a corridor, but a kind of foreground of the exhibition. It is illuminated thanks to the new window and open door. You can also see directly into the exhibition through it. The floor flows from space to space. We’re curious about the history of our town, so we enter the exhibition.

White Bloom Tower / Atelier Guo

Built on the riverside terrace of Yangshuo Sugar House, White Bloom Tower is a central installation for the 2023 New Year’s celebration to be set ablaze to welcome the new year. The site, where the installation is located, was once a dock for the old sugar factory to deliver goods and is now the space of the Sugar House facing the Li River landscape, thus making it an iconic place. After burning in the New Year celebration in 2023, White Bloom Tower will be rebuilt on the hill enclosed by the hotel, standing in the woods as if it is part of them.
