The project is a small bar and restaurant, located on a hillside overlooking the sea, where an organic garden and solar farm are planned. Bar, which organizes small activities related to essential oil extraction, is an essential oil extracted from natural ingredients such as lemongrass, rosemary, and flowers grown in organic gardens. The small restaurant, with a few tables for visitors, is located on the terraced floors according to the natural terrain, overlooking the sea, which is an ideal place to watch the sunset.
Shangen Village is a renovation project in Wenzhou, dedicated to transforming the once traditionally built village into a tourism destination. SpActrum left the project soon after we proposed the master plan during 2017-2018. The village has been hugely cleaned up since then but has lost some of its ancient ambience. The once charming chaos has turned into the blankness of purposeful building activity. The SpActrum team became involved again, aiming to recall and restore the power of ambiguity once felt on the site, and started to work on an empty plot by the village bridge.
Nanjing Qinhuai Bay Bridge spans the banks of the Qinhuai River, the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail on the south, and the ring road on the north, connecting the city’s CBD and ecological parks. It is an important gateway and urban landmark for the southern new city. The functional requirements and surrounding conditions of this bridge are very complicated. The entire line involves crossing expressways, crossing rivers, and underpassing railway viaducts, and needs to meet the comprehensive traffic requirements of machinery, non-passengers and pedestrians. Limited by the many restrictions on the plane and elevation and the basic engineering requirements of the main span of 157m, objective conditions have locked the bridge type in two configurations of tied arch bridge and single-tower cable-stayed bridge. Although many constraints avoid too divergent design starting points, they also bring difficulty in seeking features and new ideas.
the main challenge was to generate a well-integrated scheme into its monumental setting, respecting its existing built heritage.

Miwo Hotel is located on the top of a mountain in Suichang County, Lishui City. It is rich in tea hills and reservoirs and named after hot springs. It is a popular resort for tourists to spend their holidays there. The name “Mi Wo” hopes that the hotel can have the temperature of a home, and will come from far away guests, to enjoy this beautiful scenery. In view of the unique geographical environment of the hotel surrounded by mountains, the designer used white paint on the building, like an off-white tree nest, depicting the boundary between light and dark in the forest, creating a unique landscape standing in the mountains. From a distance, the hotel was faintly visible through the trees, isolated from the hustle and bustle of the city, like a hidden nest of white trees.

Aayi is the Marathi term for mother. Aayi is an attempt to create a timeless-looking Goan home, built as a tribute to the client’s parents. The project embodies the brief of being contemporary and minimalistic while being in harmony with the countryside context of the site. The site is a corner plot bound by a village road on one side and a main road on the other wherein nestled in the top left corner of the plot, amidst a lush clump of coconut trees, lies the development. The house is a South-West facing structure with a building on the North on the neighboring property and one on the East, within the property. Aayi sits effortlessly on a fourth of the lush green farmland with its clean design weaving beautifully into its surroundings.
This international student dormitory with a mixed population of approximately 300 international and Japanese students was established by Toyo University as an SGU (Support for the Creation of Super Global Universities) in promoting internationalization. The site is adjacent to the Toyo University Akabanedai Campus, which opened in 2017, and is located on higher ground from the surrounding residential area. The continuous slope from the campus creates an elevation difference of approximately 4 m within the site, so the layout of the building to harmonize with the topography and surrounding environment became the key planning point.
