The Light Pavilion / Esculpir el Aire

October 31, 2022 Pilar Caballero 0

‘The Light Pavilion’ is a conceptual construction that mainly works with white, offering a pure piece that transforms the Light as it passes through and allows the air to move freely. It is a small building that is offered as a Pavilion-Restaurant Terrace to enable new space experiences in an environment of culinary encounters, where Light is perceived differently during the day than at night when the artificial lighting thrills us –through the skin of the architecture– as if it were a magic trick.

Chiang Mai Art Gallery / Enter Projects Asia

October 30, 2022 Bianca Valentina Roșescu 0

An Art Collector’s gallery in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand consisting of several interior pavilions enclosed by intricate gardens with exterior sculptures and ornate water features. Enter projects Asia was commissioned to design the display of bespoke artworks, using all-natural materials. The international collection of silverware, fine china, and porcelain includes the largest Wedgwood collection in Southeast Asia. The owner and avid collector sought to contextualize a lifelong ambition to exhibit the treasures gathered over a 50-year period. Traditionally a clinical space in which art objects meet an audience, Enter Projects Asia was challenged to bring life to the gallery, with zoning, lighting, and seating in their signature style blending 3D geometries with traditional Thai craftsmanship. “We sought to create an immersive experience, giving the space a warmth and depth uncharacteristic of conventional art galleries” states Patrick Keane, Enter Projects Asia Director.

The studio is located in an old district in the urban area of Dali city. It was formerly a three-bedroom, two-hall residence on the first floor. The building is a brick-concrete structure. Since the original residence could not meet the daily needs of the studio, we reworked it. The main tasks of the studio renovation are: to improve the lighting and ventilation, adjust the layout and create a new space, with enough strangeness and a view.
