A developer in NYC purchased the first-ever non-fungible token (NFT) Office building in New York City. “Located” at 44 West 37th Street, the 4700 square meters NFT serves as an immutable digital asset that points to transforming how we design, build, operate, and monetize our spaces with only “one-click”. The 16-story building was created by spatial intelligence company Integrated Projects and questions the function of architecture in Real Estate and the Metaverse.

Brazil is one of the largest countries in the world, covering an area that goes from the Equator to beyond the Tropic of Capricorn, presenting a wide variety of climates and vegetation, which implies in the diverse natural landscape, flora and fauna for which the country is known. Residential architecture, when considered from its location, must adapt to the conditions of the surroundings, transforming its design according to the climate and morphology. We have gathered below a selection of Brazilian houses that respond to the natural environment in which they are located.

As part of a Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education initiative, this year the First Prize of the 213th Traditional Tec Draw is celebrated with a work by the Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, winner of the 2016 Pritzker Prize. Elemental House, a tribute to the architecture of Ricardo Legorreta, is the second of the 75th Anniversary Houses of Tec Draw to be celebrated this year.

The queer crowd has always been present, finding ways to exist, gather, and celebrate. Although their visibility hasn’t always been highlighted throughout history due to the consciousness of having to submit to heteronormative and strict mass normality in the past, doesn’t mean they previously didn’t have their own spaces to call their own. Queer spaces, past and present, have been categorized as strong, vibrant, vigorous, and worthy of occupying their own place in history, filling in as safe places for identifying individuals, places of social gathering, entertainment, and even offering community housing; therefore, there will always be a need for queer spaces.

Architecture is not simply building. Over 2,000 years ago, Roman architect Marcus Vitruvius Pollio defined two base realities in building: “Firmness” (Safety) and “Commodity” (Use) and then offered what turns building into architecture: “Delight” (Beauty).

Location. Nordtvet Farm Kindergarten is located in northeastern Oslo, in the district of Kalbakken. The kindergarten is neighbor to, and interacts with, a farm that is open to the general public. The farm has a horseback-riding field, a farmyard, and animals one can visit. In the immediate vicinity, there is also a public swimming pool and library, and apartment buildings.

Interior courtyards can be found in various types of traditional architectures around the world, especially in warmer climates. They can be classified as introverted, safe, and even sacred spaces in some cultures. They can also be gathering places and, above all, provide greater contact with nature while providing light and ventilation to home interiors. To properly design these spaces and create a functional relationship between the inside of a house and its courtyard, it is important to use appropriate doors and openings. In this article we highlight 5 projects that use sliding glass doors for the seamless integration of both spaces.
