The Royal Institute of British Architects has announced 54 winners of the 2021 RIBA National Awards for architecture including a floating church, the MK gallery and a mosque in Cambridge. The site is located in the northern part of Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture, surrounded by vineyards, with a panoramic view of the Kofu Basin and Mt.Fuji. This architecture is located in a corner of the site with a total area of 920m2, consisting of 470m2 of area for building and 450m2 of area for the vineyard. This is a two-storied wooden building with a total floor area of 123m2 and a building area of 92m2.
The client’s brief was bold and direct “Make it inspirational and spiritual”. In addition to that, they were marked by a recent trip to the Netherlands, where the intensity of nature was striking and lingered on their mind.

The ” Kite Pavilion” is located in the West Bunk Dome Art Center Square on the Xuhui Riverfront in Shanghai. This area was formerly the Shanghai Cement Plant in the 1920s. The dome and the conveyor belt were preserved as an industrial site and reactivated as a carrier for contemporary art and public events. As various events take place at the Dome Art Center, the square will be filled with crowds of people, creating a vibrant riverfront public space in Shanghai that gives a sense of open place. Dean Li Xiangning of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University planned the West Bund& Tongji Construction Festival here, and the Kite Pavilion is one of the three Pavilions.
It is a project to enjoy Yucatan, its sky, its wind and its vegetation. The footprint of the house is just one fifth of the land extension, always leaving free space and vegetation as the protagonist.
