The project arises from a key premise set by clients, a young family with children. They were clear, they were looking for a functional home that was developed on the ground floor. From there, on a flat plot without large conditions, the simplicity and precision of the prefabricated concrete panels are sought to configure a house of pure lines and white color.
Xu Wei Art Museum and Qingteng Square are a very important part of our practice project in Shaoxing Ancient City, and also a key action in the urban renewal plan of “Seeing Qingteng Again”. As the main venue for the “500th Anniversary of Xu Wei’s Birth and the Opening Ceremony of Xu Wei’s Hometown”, they were officially put into use in May 2021.
The special location of this project in the oldest roofed alley of Isfahan and next to Naghsh Jahan Square has created special conditions for this building. The building, which was going through a period of decline, was identified by our consultant after about 10 years of being abandoned, and after receiving the participation of several friends of heritage, it has been revived today and it is one of the most attractive places in the south of Naghsh-e-Jahan Square.
the result is a landscape expression that slips through the architecture creating a dynamic interplay of light, shadow, reflection, and repetition.

The Past: The old beach stage, once stood where the freedom square is now, hosted many historical events and personalities. The beach stage was the most prominent and largest venue for cultural programs and political conventions in the region. The stage though was just a reminiscence of the past with its structure sinking & dilapidating due to aging. Unfortunately, this stretch of space had no landmarks or built space evoking a sense of the historical significance of the place, and hence the freedom square

In returning to their hometown to raise a family, our clients sought to create a new modern home that would be an inviting and spacious gathering place for extended family. Room to spread, indoors and out, was a requirement. The couple purchased a three-acre lot adjacent to a golf course, with established trees, long views, and adequate privacy.
