The Wall of Being – The residence stands at a y – junction in a dense residential neighbourhood of Kozhikode, a coastal city in the south Indian state of Kerala, on a linear plot deprived of views to the outside. The client’s personality embraces a modern lifestyle, at the same time are very nostalgic about their ancestral village of the central Malabar region. The process culminated in the idea of making spaces that evoke one’s collective memory of the region, at the same time relying on modern architectural characteristics. Further briefed to a concept of creating a “Modern, Abstract, but relatable aesthetics.

X11 Global Flagship Store / BloomDesign

This is China’s largest toy collection store with the most diversified categories of products. The key of the design was to create spatial experiences and styles that cater to young consumers’ preferences. After discussion, both the client and the design team agreed to introduce differentiated and novel experiences into the store. The store is a two-storey space, which is located on the ground and underground floors of a building and occupies a total area of more than 2,000 sqm. It collects toys of all categories worldwide. The design team hoped that customers would be shocked by its diversity and “largeness” beyond physical-scale level.

Designed by WilkinsonEyre following an international design competition in 2013, Crown Sydney at One Barangaroo is located on the waterfront in a newly regenerated site on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour. The 275-metre tower and podium which marks the northwest corner of the city’s main Central Business District comprises a luxury resort hotel with 349 hotel rooms and suites, waterfront restaurants, cafés, bars and high-end shops, together with 76 luxury residential apartments above.

Foreword: “No. 78 Bancang Street” in Nanjing. After nearly 40 years of rapid development, Chinese cities have reached the critical point of large-scale spatial growth is unsustainable and land development space is severely limited. Both the government and enterprises are actively exploring an innovative way of urban development and construction, thinking about how to transform the existing land’s function and rebuild that structure through renewal and regeneration, so as to integrate with urban innovation and a new economy. In July 2019, the Zijin Campus of Nanjing Normal University, with a long history and a simple style ended its mission as a university campus. The campus covers a total area of 110,000 square meters, and the “above-ground” building area is 80,000 square meters. It leaves many campus memories for its past students and the cultural link between this university and the city.
