Vigna Maggiore / Orma Architettura

The project is located in Olmeto, in Southern-Corsica. The site is on a hillside, facing the Mediterranean sea and the small town of Propriano, across the Valinco Gulf. Formerly a farming land, vine and olive trees were grown there, and it eventually gave the name to the place “Vigna Maggiore”. The client’s order was quite open, but he wanted to characterise a place within a large piece of land. The project thus was to create an enclave that would seize a fragment of the landscape. The geography became the project. The site has unique qualities, brought into light by centenarian trees, a visual composition upon the sea, but also through the ground, the soil. The terrain is composed of granitic tuff, ochre in colour, which was a huge source of inspiration for us. Eventually, this particular aspect became the main material of the project.

Fast Shop Lifestyle Ibirapuera Flagship store of Fast Shop, a retail chain of electronics and home appliances that operates more than 80 physical stores in Brazil. We designed a space as a house based on daily life of consumers, not a space focused only on products exhibition. The layout of the store is divided into rooms such as “News”, “Home Cinema”, “Cooking Together”, “Connectivity”, “Personal Care”, “Kids” and we put the symbolic lighting in each room. The idea is to represent the habit of the human being and the family, at home, of gathering around the light.

Yimeng Cloud House / Greyspace Architecture Design Studio

February 5, 2021 Collin Chen 0

Yimeng Cloud House is a boutique hostel with 19 rooms in 2 levels, in a total built area of around 1,233 m2. The project site sits in Mount Yimeng, Shandong, about one kilometer away from the entrance of Class 5A Yunmeng Scenic Area, with the only road leading to the scenic area on its south. The peaks of Mount Yumeng are lush and cloudy all year round, while the site is located in a very typical northern village that grows along the road outside the entrance. The project site is around 40 metre long from east to west and 32 metre deep from north to south. The site itself is flat, while the external road is 1.6 metre higher on the west. There was a primary school in the site, abandoned in the process of combining village schools. The new building is designed according to the footprint of the original school building, reserving the original spatial characteristics of interior courtyard and exterior corridor as well as the collage of materials.

The client’s request was to create a place for people to mingle and co-creation using idle farmland owned in Inzai City, Chiba Prefecture. Hearing this, I thought it would be interesting to create a plan that would increase the attractiveness of farmland at a time when more and more young people are starting to live in two locations or start farming.

House in Nakago / SNARK + Ouvi

The project was to build a two-story timber house in Shibukawa City, Gunma Prefecture JAPAN, for the next generation of owners next to the existing compound, which was also refurbished at the same time. The road on the southeast end of the site is a national highway with frequent traffic. By rotating the new house 45 degrees, we created a continuous line from the wall of the existing house. As a result, it formed two gardens where one is shared and connected to the existing building, and another privatized from the existing house.
