Stripping and functionality. These have been the customers’ requests when requesting the project. With a generous, urban terrain and without any natural attractions in the surroundings, the house has been designed from clear volumes, natural materials, always seeking cross ventilation and natural lighting. In relation to the street, quite airtight, in no way suggesting the breadth and integration of the internal areas.
The idea of “Biophilia” was defined as “love of life” in ancient Greece. Although the term may seem relatively new, coming across as a trend in the fields of architecture and interior design, the concept of biophilia was introduced by psychologist Erich Fromm for the first time in 1964 and then popularized in the 1980s by biologist Edward O. Wilson, who studied the lack of connection with nature caused by urban life.
A small plot, in the inner backyard, just behind the main square, surrounded by the solid walls, everything is cramped here. These limits gave the extension the shape of a tower with a minimal floor plan and pushed it to the very border, to the northern part of the plot.

The apartment, measuring around 75 sqm, is located at the foot of Mount Reit, in a classic alpine building from the late 1970s. The home, with a view over the entire Valdidentro, is built for a young family in mind and is designed for welcoming friends and family.
