With the Viale Giulini Affordable Housing project, Rome-based studio Alvisi Kirimoto is redesigning the outskirts of Barletta (Puglia) through a social housing intervention. Located in a mixed-use area (residential and commercial) of Brasília, close to W3 North Avenue, one of the main roads in the city, the original building had two underground storeys, ground level and four more floors. The last three floors, divided into two towers, formed spaces with ideal dimensions for work spaces. It’s free structural elements space, the concrete slab, the existing floor and other pre-existing elements could be perfectly adapted in the creation of new collaborative spaces.
In documenting the body of work of Miró Rivera Architects, Belgian photographer Sebastian Schutyser employs a photographic technique never before used for the presentation of contemporary architecture. The soft, pictorial imagery produced with a pinhole camera perfectly showcases the dialogue between architecture and landscape which underlines the studio’s designs.

The site is located in the outskirts of Villeta, in the middle of a countryside urbanization, benefiting from an extraordinary view over the surrounding landscape. In the middle of the mountain, its topography is very abrupt, especially in the upper side of the site where the view is most impressive. The design choses this area to place the building, capturing the best view and facing the challenge of the strong inclination.
