A project steeped in the industrial past The construction of a building that includes 35 housing units (privately owned and social housing) and a cabinetmaking workshop located on the ground floor. A former Botelli cabinetmaking workshop, the workshop contributes to the historical continuity of the site and evokes the past through the architectural design. In continuation of the adjoining architecture, through the construction details, the building evokes the history of the site (cabinetmaking workshop), our epoch, and contemporary construction methods.

New Zealand’s favourite shopping centre, Sylvia Park, with its wide selection of retailers complemented by entertainment and dining options, has already become a destination in itself. The addition of the first commercial office building on site supports the centre’s ambitions to transform into a metropolitan town centre. A master planning exercise determined the site for the first of several planned office buildings. ANZ Raranga is located close to the mall’s heart, ‘The Cone’, and extends the existing restaurant precinct westward.

Barcode Architects’ striking residential tower The Muse is located on the Wijnhaven in the up-and-coming Maritime District. The program is focused on comfortably inner-city living, with lots of space for social interaction, a lively plinth, and features that enhance the living comfort of the residents. The Muse enriches the Rotterdam skyline with a new, sculptural silhouette. The more introverted anthracite facades form a dark band around the tower.
