For the Gundersons, the G5 Brewing Company is a legacy project that celebrates family and the places they call home. Melding aspects of Montana and the Midwest, the design balances local vernacular, contemporary details, and western materials to create a timeless brewery and restaurant to gather for good company and a pint or two. The building’s primary areas represent the five members of the family and are organized around a central beer garden with views into the brewing operations — the heart of the project.

The new L’Oreal Corporate Research and Innovation Center will house research, testing, and production of cosmetic products, the first of its kind in Latin America. Designed for the global cosmetics company, the facility will transform the company’s research processes and collaborative models to allow for more dynamic, integrated approaches to production and testing.
The house is located in a condominium in Nova Lima, a county in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, 25 km from the capital of Minas Gerais. Its simple volume is composed of two rectangular boxes with identical dimensions and external coverings that overlap by a perpendicular design. The contrast between the construction and the presence of the landscape delimits the built space and appropriates the scenery without competing with nature, however assuming human intervention.
