The Porcelain Room / Tom Postma Design

The exhibition is an homage to the ancient porcelain rooms of European palaces and aristocratic houses. The design created by Tom Postma Design represents a contemporary interpretation of the porcelain room. A temporary setting in direct dialogue with the permanent architecture by Rem Koolhaas. The exhibition brings together more than 1,700 individual Chinese export porcelains made from the 16th to the 19th centuries and is curated by Chinese porcelain experts Jorge Welsh and Luísa Vinhais. It explores the historical context, scope and impact of Chinese exported porcelains up to the present time.

Linping Sports Park Supporting Project / CCTN

Background
This Project is in Linping Sports Park, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It aims to provide supporting facilities for the newly built park, and consists of a fitness center, a comprehensive indoor arena, and rest stations. The Sports Park is a rare urban oasis in such a densely inhabited city. Following ecofriendly operation standards, it has a simple and flowing landscape with open lawns and streamlined walkways. The original green vegetation of the space has been preserved to a huge extent.

Building area and land area of the project: Ground floor: 73 m2, first floor: 76 m2, total floors: 148.7 m2, and land: 500 m2. The land is located in Maklavan city in Fuman County, Gilan province, which has a pristine landscape. We could make the most of these landscapes by creating large openings and proper layout of the spaces. These openings also contribute to provide ventilation and draught, which is essential for the design in this area. Due to the dimensional limitations of the land (50 x 10), an attempt was made to establish maximum connection with the outside area while maintaining maximum privacy to the adjoining property on the east side.
