Restaurante y Café Fresco / Hitzig Militello Arquitectos

The project has been influenced by modern, neutral and industrial details. The neutrality is given by the balance of its materials and its shades of white. All its materials have been used in a bitonal balance of black and white, except for details in corrugated aluminium and the black rubber floor. From the beginning we understood that the brand is, as its name indicates ( Fresco means Fresh in spanish ), a place whose identity is marked by the nature of its simple materials, its fresh and natural products as well. From this reflection we have suggested to implement a nature of alive presence and prominent avoiding to fall in the use of static nature. This nature is form and function in all its interventions, they work as a light system and as an active landscape in several of its bars.

March 27, 2020 Paula Pintos 0

The Summit is a renovation and extension to an idiosyncratic late modernist home in Malvern. The original house features a boldly curved roof, delicately supported on a string of steel posts. A curved wall of glass emulates the roof form, bending inwards to create a side courtyard. With glass and garden on all sides, the house is awash with natural light.

March 26, 2020 Hana Abdel 0

The Bellary House is located in the small town of Bellary known for its Iron Ore mines, boulder landscape, historic ruins and its hot and dry climate. The house is located in one of Bellary’s transforming neighborhoods, which is currently seeing a lot of the older modest houses give way to more grander villas. The house sits on a corner site on edge of this slow but steady transformation. The site with  its dimensions of 60 x 40 ft has its longer edge towards the busier west street and its quieter shorter edge towards the north street. The house is designed to stave off the outside heat and create cool currents within it so as to form a convectional micro-climate. The outside walls wrap the house in this gesture of protection, pierced only with small and mass produced precast concrete windows that dot this exterior. The windows are kept small with heavy eaves to keep away the harsh sun.
