One of the most popular destinations in Texas for rafting and tubing, the Guadalupe River—a serpentine waterscape that interweaves vacation properties with a floating park experience—forms the backdrop for this project. Three siblings sought to create a gathering point for their families. They asked for a design that made connections—between their children, light and the riparian landscape—a place to surface memories.

Context. The ample school campus Steinmürli in Dietikon (CH) is a cluster of orthogonally arranged buildings. From the two existing kindergarten buildings on the campus with two units, each one had to be replaced. The new double kindergarten is placed along the eastern end of the perimeter. The placement of the new building reorganizes and structures the open spaces and creates a new spacious outdoor play area. As a connective element between the two buildings, there is a naturally shaped play area with an adventurous climbing and balancing parcours made of robinia wood.

With a program that stretches over a newly built part and an existing historical fragment, that once hosted the Kyoto Central Telephone Company created by Tetsuro Yoshida, the structure is envisioned as a “Cultural Catalyst”.
Rammed earth has been used in construction for thousands of years, with evidence of its use dating as far back as the Neolithic Period. Commonly used especially in China, the technique was applied to both ancient monuments and vernacular architecture, with the Great Wall utilizing the technique. Though interest in rammed earth declined in the 20th century, some continue to advocate its use today, citing its sustainability in comparison to more modern construction methods. Most notably, rammed earth structures use local materials, meaning they have low embodied energy and produce little waste. Below, we describe how to build with this material.

The main idea of the restaurant interior concept is to make an Asian restaurant without direct reference to Asian motives. The menu includes dishes from various local cultures. The atmosphere of the restaurant is created by the trends and images of modern Asia. “PANAM” – day restaurant, a democratic space which is accented by a combination of the classic and well-known techniques with bright eccentric details, the warm peach hue of the ceiling in the background of neutral walls with deliberately artificial plants bright colors.
This house is built on a land plot of 9m wide x 11m deep, near the intersection (traffic light) of the large street where many of vehicles. We design by creating a box block with a minimalist front and started cutting (sculpting) the windows and logia positions to get the light for the rooms inside.
Haibing Center of Nankai University aims to provide the old campus with a multi-functional cultural space for students, faculties and alumni. As well as being used for teaching, the building is also capable of hosting conferences and exhibitions.
