December 27, 2019 Daniel Tapia 0

This house is in a serene landscape in Fukushima, Japan, where a 60s couple lives and their children come back on the weekend. Through the dialogue with them, we found they have a special feeling for their former house and the scenery there. Therefore, in this project, we thought about reconstructing the fragments of various scenes of the former house.

Dayananda Sagar College of Architecture Announces Winners of the Essays in Architecture Competition

Architectural thinking has a rich tradition of being bound to writing. Be it the vāstu śāstra, the Seven Lamps by Ruskin, or the writings of Thoreau—writing and craft have not only gone hand in hand but are synonymous. Imagination is the moment of architecture and it finds expression in writing as much, if not more, as it does in drawing. Unfortunately, the power of the pen, especially when it comes to architecture-design, remains largely underrated.

Memorial Cemetery Parque das Cerejeiras / Crisa Santos Arquitectos

December 26, 2019 Daniel Tapia 0

Crisa Santos has a unique peculiarity on developing projects focusing on neuroarchitecture, which uses science to create projects that offer sensations and perceptions, causing emotions to users, aims to increase awareness and understanding of the impacts of architecture on the brain and human behavior. An example of this is the Parque das Cerejeiras´s revitalization project, located in Jardim Ângela, South Zone of São Paulo. A reference in the capital of São Paulo, the cemetery, with 300,000 square meters, has the architecture embraced by nature in a perfect symbiosis, reframing the contact of human beings with their most instinctive sensations in order to reestablish grief in a more natural way, through the practice of biophilia. Using parametric architecture for some structures, in addition to the use of outdoor environments, Crisa Santos designed this complex aimed at the public of the peripheral neighborhoods of the Zul region of São Paulo.
