Elisabeth de Portes School Library and Restaurant / Christoph Schwander Architekten
Placing the new library and restaurant building along the Rue de la Tour has a resolving effect on the school campus ensemble. Together with the existing buildings – the gymnasium on the southwest and the classrooms on the northeast – two loose brackets are formed, framing the schoolyard. The small existing telecommunication building is incorporated into the body of the new building.

Q House / Q concept
Q house is a small house, located in a suburb of Da Nang, Vietnam. With 100 square meters of land, the design was formed with the idea of a tropical house so it can suit well with the Mid-Vietnam weather conditions.
Haiyang Village / EXH Design
Haiyang village is located two hours south of the city of Wuhan, within a hilly, wooded terrain interspersed with ponds. Today, the young population of such rural villages are hired as workers in the city. As a result, the potential of the villages is declining, as the remaining elders have neither the strength nor the capital to innovate.

Since the early day’s of U.lab’s establishment, there have been an attachment and longing for the old and profound space of our own. Due to our job traits, we always create new spaces. However the accumulation of time of the old space could not be intentionally created. Hence, the space having long history has always been yearned. This space was the rice mill created in 1931, during Japanese Colonial Rule. We were very interested in the time and place of this space. Since It was a 90-year-old building, so it needed water leakage prevention and insulation work. However, we did not want to change the existing space significantly. We planned to design the rice mill carefully and delicately, by adding only functional space while preserving basic form.

Nakhon Chai Si House / Junsekino Architect and Design
Nakhon Chai Si House is the house of 3 generation Thai Chinese family members. The site is located on the outer part of Bangkok which is the same plot of land as their own factory but separated from each other for privacy. The house is placed to the side of the land in order to take view of the lake and golf court, as if the house has its own private lake. For this house, there is one constrained according to Feng Shui is to make the 3-storey house look like 2-storey house.
