Sadhu Restaurant / Le House

Sadhu’s space is open and friendly with the main color are dark wood and the blue of mallard duck that will reflect a part of the architecture of Hoi An ancient town (a small old town located in the Central Vietnam) and diners get immersed in an extremely relaxed space. Each line of Sadhu repeats more or less from the architecture in Hoi An. In addition to the details of the Buddhist spirit such as pure feelings like clouds, frankincense. Diners also find familiar feelings of traditional Vietnamese houses. This is also a pure Vietnamese element that Sadhu wishes to bring to customers, each tree-covered tile roof is built with the hope of giving customers a space to enjoy peace, quiet, but still warm.

The client’s aim was to create a contemporary extension to a historic family home, offering flexible spaces, whilst ensuring the addition fit sympathetically within its context. As privacy and security is important within a family home, the design will create a balanced relationship between large open living areas and private spaces. With both a south/ east facing garden it was important to maximise the natural light into the new spaces to negate any dark zones. The proposal, although contemporary in form, will blend in harmoniously with the surrounding and respect the Old Vicarage’s character.

SUM Living Space / Parada Cantilo Estudio

Located in the town of Manuel B. Gonnet, this living space is born due to the need of a flexible program within a limited piece of land, determined by a modulated assembly structure of simple, dynamic development. As for its implementation, “the object” is separated from one of the limits of the land, obtaining cross ventilation throughout its development, taking advantage of the best orientation and strengthening the connection to its environment. Through a light and permeable materiality, it maintains a possibility of constant dialogue between interior – exterior.
