The RS Pondok Indah Bintaro Jaya Hospital is a 230-bed greenfield private hospital in Jakarta. The development was built over two stages, with areas still to open to receive patients. The staging of the hospital is a component of the staged development that responds to the greater Bintaro Masterplan. The largest and closest satellite city to Jakarta, Bintaro began not with the built environment but with consideration for circulation, easy walking distance, water sensitive design and landscaped connections. The hospital reflects a holistic urban design solution that integrates health, wellness, and community. The facility forms part of the greater city of Bintaro with planned green corridors, mixed-use commercial buildings, retail, short-stay facilities, and multifaceted residential developments.

A modern Visitor Center serves as a window on the past, celebrating a historically significant port town, while lifting visitors above a levee to reunite river and town, past and present. Situated at the confluence of Arkansas’ White and Black Rivers, Jacksonport was a thriving 1800’s port town serving steamboats that held up to 200 passengers. It’s a place of contradiction geographically and historically, where the Mississippi Delta meets the mountains. Because of its accessibility to the Arkansas and Mississippi Rivers, Jacksonport was a Civil War strategic stronghold, being held five different times by Union and Confederate forces and serving as each general’s headquarters.

The design of the house was born in a search of the essence of the owner. For which it is inquired on many of the topics related to it. From that essence it was identified a lot of creativity, a playful spirit, innocence, exploratory features, surprise seeking, sensory experiences, aim to discover, valuing processes, interested in mutations and changes in space. In this process, much of the characteristics of the owner’s character were absorbed and personal meanings were worked on. Due to the passion of the owner for the illustrations, it was established that it was fundamental to get involved in the owner’s logic and make illustrations as a design methodology (a book was made).
