The premise of the project was to preserve the largest number of trees in the field, so the house plan follows a non-orthogonal tracing, bypassing them, so that their implantation occurs continuously and naturally, always preserving the contact with the vegetation and the internal/external relationship. Two rotating blind blocks and a detached cover make up the façade of the residence, revealing nothing of the interior and working them in such a way that the angulation of these volumes encourages and induces people to enter the space.
Earlier this year, the L’Abre Blanc Residential Tower was completed in Montpellier, France. Designed by Sou Fujimoto, Nicolas Laisné, Manal Rachdi, and Dimitri Roussel, the tree-like structure features cantilevered balconies protruding from its ‘trunk’ in all directions. The Architecture Building is the central block of the University’s Campus and the last piece of the Spatial and Land-use Master Plan that Daniel Bermúdez designed for the Universidad de los Andes which first piece was the Alberto Lleras building, winner of the Architectural Design award of the XIII Colombian Biennial of Architecture in 1992.
