A new film by Oscilloscope Laboratories and Stephen Wilkes explores photographer Jay Maisel’s move from his iconic six-story bank building he called home for 49 years. The landmark structure at 190 Bowery in the East Village of New York was locally known as The Bank, and considered by many New Yorkers to be abandoned. Wilkes tells the story of Maisel’s move and documents the incredible structure that has housed a collection of countless objects for half a century.

Located in a green corridor of the Dashahe Innovation Zone, the masterplan for the new design community was developed by Urbanus, who collaborated with several firms on structures

On this remote site, where architecture’s neighbour is ecology and geology rather than the built environment, how might we address the problem of the isolated building? The architect’s strategy for a five bedsuite luxury lodge in a remote glacial valley in the NZ Southern Alps explores these questions.  The architecture draws inspiration from the imposing grandeur of the vastly scaled glacial landscape and the weaving folded moraine across the valley that ensued – remnant topography from the glacial retreat 10,000 years ago.

Contrary to the peaceful outskirts of Ho Chi Minh city, k59 home and atelier has been established among high-rise buildings along Huynh Tan Phat Boulevard. Along with the development of Can Gio district, many major roads were expanded for residential areas and commercial buildings. The construction sights dominate this area all the time, thus it makes lot of air pollution and sometime it is hard to breathe.
