The project was born from the need to recover an old house located in the historic
center of the city of Mérida, México. Casa Deco is one of the few houses in the historic center of Merida that are characterized by having the architectural style that bears its name; This style was not the original style of the house but the result of a remodeling of the facade, so we decided to show the pre-existences both formal and functional that the house has suffered during its long life.

Sunland Reveals Futuristic Towers and $1 Billion Masterplan in Australia

Developer Sunland has revealed plans for four residential towers in a $1.3 billion masterplan along Australia’s Gold Coast. Sited in a former 42-hectare dairy farm, the project is designed to create a new urban village. Dubbed “The Lanes”, it would include the towers and new retail space, boulevard, and outdoor amphitheater. Conceived by ex-Zaha Hadid designer Contreras Earl, the towers are made to represent the geometry of plant life.

Goat House by Talin Architectural Design

Yalin Architectural Design made shutters from the wooden planks used for the board-formed concrete frame of Goat House, a holiday house in a small farming village in Turkey. The Istanbul-based practice co-founded by Yalın Mimarlık devised a sloped concrete form for Goat House, so the taller end frames views over the lush Aegean landscape. Shutters

Country Garden House / Olson Kundig

Situated to be in harmony with its lush landscape, this home built for a master gardener takes every opportunity to draw in views of the surrounding gardens and rolling hills, while also creating a warm and comfortable space suitable for a multi-generational family. The form of the reclaimed barn wood-clad house is reminiscent of a farm structure or even a greenhouse with its gridded glazing and pitched roof and high windows at each end of the main volume flood the home with light.

Bardolph Gardens House / Breathe Architecture

Taking cues from its surrounding architectural context, Bardolph Gardens consists of two single storey dwellings that provide environmentally sustainable, affordable, and well designed rental housing in Glen Iris. Occupying what was an under-utilised open space at the rear of two existing Californian bungalows, the dwellings are architecturally and formally respectful to the immediate residential context.
