Vilnius National Concert Hall Architecture Competition

An international architectural idea competition for the National Concert Hall has been launched. Architects from all over the world are invited to design one of the most important future spaces in the capital city of Lithuania and to submit their proposals to Vilnius City Municipality. The contest expires in June, and it is estimated that the construction of the building should start in 2021. According to initial plans, Vilnius city dwellers and city guests would be invited to the new hall in 2023 on the occasion of celebration of the 700th anniversary of Vilnius city.

The ruins of Casa Sperimentale, an experimental concrete treehouse built by Giuseppe Perugini and Uga de Plaisant, have been digitally recorded for a new exhibition. Patrick Weber and Sabine Storp, architects and researchers at The Bartlett, undertook the project in order to comprehensively document the architectural oddity, which is now in a precarious state. Vitra Design Museum Explores the Work of Balkrishna Doshi

The Vitra Design Museum has announced a new exhibition exploring the work of Pritzker architect Balkrishna Doshi. Titled Architecture for the People, the museum will present the first international retrospective about Balkrishna Doshi outside of Asia. The goal of the exhibition is to open Doshi’s work to a global audience and show how the architect’s work has redefined modern Indian architecture to shape a new generations of architects.
