Yulhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, is a residential area that has the appearance of the past, unlike its surroundings of a new city. Unlike the parking lot and the well-maintained area, when you enter the complex, you face a high wall facing the road. It seems to indicate the disconnected communication of residents of Yulhyeon-dong. However, Y-Project tries to promote community coexistence and contribute to the community as a new residential prototype of Yulhyeon-dong neighborhood.

Located in Albert Park, this project explores the potentials of contemporary living within neighborhoods of high heritage value. The small 10m x 20m corner site is dominated by a red brick and terracotta-roofed Edwardian era home, a building that offers a great deal to the street, but is limited in its amenity for the residents.

MAD Architects have completed their restoration work on the Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel in Japan’s Niigata prefecture, transforming the historic lookout tunnel into a trail of artistic spaces. The “Tunnel of Light” was opened as part of the 2018 Echigo-Tsumari Triennale, cutting through 750 meters of rock formations to offer a panoramic view across one of Japan’s great landscapes.

London-based fashion brand COS opens its first store in Chicago located on Oak Street, housing womenswear, menswear and childrenswear collections across three floors and 5,700 square feet of sales area. For the first COS flagship location in Chicago, COS’ in-house team of architects, engineers, and interior designers set out to create a functional and contemporary space inspired by the 20th-century architecture for which the city is known.
