Luton Direct Air-Rail Transit (DART) / Arup

The Luton DART (Direct Air-Rail Transit) is a pioneering fully-automated people mover that transports travelers from Luton Airport Parkway railway station to the terminal of London Luton Airport in under four minutes. The project was designed and delivered by a holistic multi-disciplinary Arup team, including Architects, Engineers, Planners and Specialists. Arup’s Architecture team designed a common language of bold, sculptural parasol structures that support the roof and allow light and air to enter the stations, whilst protecting passengers from the weather. This created striking spaces that are open and generous in size, naturally lit and ventilated.

Due to its exceptional location in the tri-border region of France, Switzerland and Germany, the city of Neuenburg am Rhein has always been of special importance. As part of the State Garden Exhibition 2022, the town had the opportunity to reorganize urban areas. The site known as “Am Kronenrain”, located between the city center and the redesigned green space “Stadtpark am Wuhrloch”, played a significant role in this endeavor. The preliminary urban situation proved to be dissatisfactory with hardly any usable space and a height difference of around nine meters.

Becva River Bridge / Strasky, Husty a partneri (SHP)

The bridge, which is situated between small villages Usti and Cernotin, is a part of the bicycle path Becva connecting the cities of Karlovice and Tovacov. The elevation of the bridge, which perpendicularly crosses the River Becva, is in a crest curve with a radius of 1 705 m, and the tangents are in the longitudinal slope of 5.26%. The width between the railings is 3.50 m. Concurrently with the bridge construction, widening of the river bed solving flood problems, was also performed.
