Screen House / Kamat & Rozario Architecture

The plot was 40 feet wide and 75 feet deep. The project is an attempt to maximize the dialogue with the outdoors as you navigate the depth of the plot. Therefore, it was imperative to interrupt the plot depth with punctuation marks of sunshine and air.

T-house is located on the land of 3.77×11.32m, deep in a small and long alley of Saigon. The house is both a home for a young couple and a playground for their two children.  Ho Chi Minh City in general and District 6 in particular are densely populated areas, with over 600 alleyways over 70 000 m long. Deep in the alleys, there are quite a few townhouses with narrow horizontal facades and small areas. Besides, housing demand for young households (2-4 members) is increasing.

MADE LIM Café / NONE SPACE

A church with 120 years of heritage. As with modern architecture, if it is a 120-year-old building with accumulated time and history, we have difficulty in daring to determine or estimate its value. So, we have planned with the highest priority on establishing a new brand story based on the accumulated time and establishing it as a cultural space, rather than erasing the traces of time and the past or replacing them with completely new ones.

Dark and Light Restaurant / Plainoddity

March 30, 2023 Hana Abdel 0

An Italian restaurant that brings something special to an ordinary day. As for food, heavy foods like pasta and steak are on the ‘dark line’. Light foods such as salads and desserts are organized in the ‘light line’. In the name of light and darkness, ‘LIGHT SPACE’ tried to express light and brightness, lightness, and open nature. ‘DARK SPACE’ is expressed as darkness, heaviness, and closed space. It was designed as a space where light and darkness circulate.

March 29, 2023 Hana Abdel 0

Sitting high on the northern headland looking back over picturesque Balmoral Beach (Sydney, Australia) Palm Frond Retreat by Koichi Takada Architects is a dramatic contemporary residence designed to make the most of its sought-after location. The five-bedroom, three-storey home is oriented around the view, and to capture the best of each season – for year-round enjoyment and entertainment. Pockets of space have been created throughout for solitary escape while generous, protected spaces are ready to entertain family and friends. A subtle delineation between formal/entertaining spaces and the family zones has been created with a central kitchen, while everyday luxury pervades. Expansive retractable windows and doors invite the natural beauty of the area inside and allow life to transition seamlessly to the outdoors. Materials and hues of the architecture were selected in keeping with nature’s palette.

De Men House / Country House. Architecture

March 29, 2023 Hana Abdel 0

I have been thinking about my house for a very long time since I was a teenage boy. Every day, when herding cows through fields, sneaking into the bamboo groves, and wandering around the village,… In my imagination, sometimes my house was the bird nest in the tree and other times it was just a thatched hut or an old house next to a stream in the forest. I feel like I am a very complicated man…

Villa Tanatakah / asimapra

March 26, 2023 Hana Abdel 0

Tanatakah is a private villa, just a 3-minute stroll from the sands of Pererenan beach, Bali. The space’s programming is geared toward fostering closeness and privacy within a family of parents and two adult children who will soon be starting their own families. The 393 sqm site is situated in a newly developed area of trendy joints and tourist accommodations, not so far from the vibrant Canggu neighborhood. It is also surrounded by lush nature close to a river mouth with pockets of rice fields still operated and owned by the local Balinese community. It inspired us to marry the dynamics and playfully incorporate local characters and natural elements into a contemporary twist on the architecture.

ASKWATCH Nakano Store / Kenta Nagai Studio

March 26, 2023 Hana Abdel 0

Interior design for a second store specializing in luxury watches from around the world. The site is part of “Nakano Broadway”, a commercial facility known as a mecca for subcultures, with a high density of various products and small stores. In recent years, it has also become known as a mecca for luxury watches, with many watch stores lining the streets. Since the store is in a unique commercial facility, it was necessary to follow the brand image created by the main store, but also to reconstruct it in consideration of the different environment and relationship with the clientele.
